Mercer Ranked in Chambers USA 2020

June 5, 2020

ATLANTA, June 5, 2020 – Mercer Law LLC is pleased to announce that Robert Mercer has once again been listed in Chambers USA, the prestigious, independent legal industry referral guide.  Mercer has been recognized by Chambers USA for Bankruptcy/Restructuring in Georgia for the last 8 consecutive years and is only one of three attorneys ranked in Bankruptcy/Restructuring in Georgia who works in a boutique law firm.

Chambers wrote: “Robert Mercer has extensive experience in disputes concerning distressed assets as well as handling chapter 11 proceedings and damages claims. Sources describe him as a ‘conscientious advocate who provides valuable counsel and advice.”

Chambers publishes an annual list ranking leading firms and lawyers in an extensive range of practice areas. Inclusion is based on submissions from law firms, interviews with clients and lawyers, and Chambers’ own database resources. The publication assesses key qualities in the legal field including technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, and commitment.

Throughout his two decades of practice, Mercer has represented a vast array of clients including post-confirmation trustees, receivers, assignees for the benefit of creditors, licensors of intellectual property, borrowers, lenders, landlords, professionals, trade creditors, directors and officers, and purchasers of distressed businesses.

In addition to his broad bankruptcy and insolvency practice, Mercer works with personal injury plaintiffs’ lawyers when their clients are asserting claims against insolvent entities and represents parties on a contingency-fee basis in high-stakes bankruptcy and insolvency litigation.  Mercer Law also intentionally does not represent any national banks because of the constraints often imposed by national bank conflicts of interest.

Mercer serves on the board of directors of the Atlanta chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and the Advisory Board of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop.
